Grants at Work

Since 1991, the GEF has funded over a half a million dollars in grants to Grandville Public Schools!

The Grandville Education Foundation's mission is to distribute financial resources to enhance or supplement educational opportunities for students in the Grandville Public School District. There have been many notable grants provided to our school district, check out some of the highlights below.

The Amazing Shake Grant

The Amazing Shake Competition. 36 students from West Elementary 4th, 5th & 6th grade classes competed in a gauntlet of 1 minute real world challenges with area business leaders. They were judged on their handshake, confidence, charisma, poise, eye contact and the ability to "think on their feet". The competition also introduces the students to the networks, roles, opportunities, and career paths that they may not have been exposed to before.

During the Amazing Shake, students learn and develop professional skills:

  • Giving a proper handshake

    1. Professional conversation skills

    2. Presentation skills

    3. Problem solving skills

to prepare them exceptionally well for opportunities today and in the future.
